Greater Cleveland Aquarium Tour - Cleveland, Ohio
The Greater Cleveland Aquarium in Ohio near Lake Erie is a fantastic place to visit if you're near Cleveland or traveling around the Great Lakes. Opened in the historic Powerhouse building of the city’s Flats district in 2012, which was designed to generate electricity for Cleveland's streetcars, this Aquarium is actually the city’s second aquarium - the first having closed in 1985. In addition to checking out native species to Ohio's lakes and rivers, the aquarium showcases various fish from around the world and has a really nice shark gallery and sea tube as well. Hopefully you like our tour of this small, but really well done aquarium. It's one of the many fun things to do in Cleveland.

In 1958, the light, now a green LED that flashes every six seconds, was automated after the U.S. Coast Guard assumed respon...

A Day in Biscayne National Park - Three Lighthouses and Boca Chita Key
Lol let in mosquitos
At time 4:08 mark the narrator say "450 feet above sea level" It should be '450 above lake level' Lake Michigan is 580 feet above sea level and the deck over looking the lake is around 1000 above sea level.
Good catch, thank you!
Just remember to be respectful of mother nature, and read the signs if they are posted. Many people have trashed as well as caused erosion in these areas by littering and going on dunes that are supposed to be left alone. The rivers and lakes have been trashed each year. These are amazing places that need protection. The wildlife is crucial, and unfortunately due to high levels of foot traffic many of the animals have dwindled in certain areas. There is also numerous non-native and invasive species that have been introduced to these areas from boating as well as foot traffic. Please don't go anywhere in nature if you do not care or don't want to take the proper precautions.
Beautiful! Thank You!
You're very welcome!
Do you still use this same shower set up at this time or have you found something better? I'm getting ready to purchase something soon.
Yes, we still use this but not nearly as often as we used to since we bought a camper. Because of that we haven’t really looked to improve the setup. It’s just become our go-to when we’re traveling for short periods or trying to keep it light.
Noticed some additions to the Island since I lived there in ‘73, ‘75, honeymooned in ‘77, visited in ‘91 and in a couple of other years in the past 20 years. Met my husband there in 1975 through Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship!
That’s amazing! We thought about moving there. We loved it so much.
I’ve built heavy drawers over the years and a good low cost ‘runner’ I have used is a couple of strips of ‘Laminex’. Which is a brand name here in Australia. It’s just the surface that was normally used on most cabinet tops. e.g. on your drawers I would use probably 2 @ 2” wide strips the full length under the drawer. Glued to the drawer and matching on the base. As it is really hard, this makes a long wearing sliding capability.
That’s a great idea, thank you. I just googled it and it says it’s similar to polytec, also an Australian brand.
Well done, great trip. We are going in September 2024
Thank you! We hope you have a blast ! We’ll be there in September too for a rim to rim hike :)
Excellent video, very detailed. Thanks for the effort. Central Park probably deserves a dedicated video. I would encourage M&G to do another video with whatever they know was missed such as Seaport, or scenic walks such as Battery Park to Little Island, more on the upper west, more museums, etc
Thank you! And yes, plenty more to do, we had to cut it off at 111! Central Park is definitely its own video. We are 40 or so videos behind haha, with some of those coming up as longer videos from this video.
this video is the best - hands down. it basically covered all the aspects from literally every kind of visitor's point of view.
Thank you! It took a long time to think it out 😁
an irish summer just means the rain gets warmer
😂
might wear a helmet lol
Ahahaha, good call
Thank you for the amazing video..balanced and exciting
Appreciate the comment! Glad you enjoyed
I've walked the Freedom trail. My only advice is to be wary of Swan.
Nice outing! I like the lion fish as well. 😁
Aquariums are always fun! 😁
You are seeing the Perry Victory Monument from West Bay, not the Marblehead Light House. Different direction.
Well that’s a goof! Thanks for pointing that out. Watching it again I’m like why did I say that?
i love aquariums - no matter where they are! i like the panther grouper very good tour, thank you very much!
Us too! Big or small, they’re always so fascinating.
I’m moving back to city in few years. When I split, this was just “in the air” idea. I ❤ NY
Glad you’re coming back! We ❤️ it too!
Great video Thanks for all the info and your time and effort 👍
Thank you! It did take quite some time haha
@@MagellanandGreyhound 👍
Great video, I'm heading up to Donegal from Dublin to take some photos, some great tips for locations there. Thanks
Thanks and you're very welcome! Hope you have a great time there
Amazing, my friends 🙂
Thank you Petr!
Now there's a marvelous aquarium for sure!! Indeed, stay out of them shark waters!! We're getting more and more Great White sightings right here off the coast of Nova Scotia...hmmm...maybe Otis has the right idea of not wanting to ever even stick a paw in!! lol
We have been as well. I know each part of the world is different, but whether the water is warmer or there's new schools of fish attracting them, the sharks are out in force!
@@MagellanandGreyhound It was just on the news at noon today that on a good number of beaches here in Nova Scotia that there are going to be permanent shark warning signs posted...who would have ever believed!!??
Respectfully I hate yankee stadium
No offense taken 😁
How many elevators are there? I have claustrophobia.
Yankee Museum is on the 200 level of the Stadium. It is open until about the 7th inning, I think. Some of the exhibits are permanent, others are new each year.
I subscribed because of the Steely Dan shirt.
😁
Very good video. Now I think I should do river trips there. (There are better places to eat than the Starlight Theater).
Thank you! Our favorite moments were on that river. We were mostly eating “trail” food haha, we didn’t get to eat much else while there. Except bbq. 😂
@@MagellanandGreyhound As an Appalachian Trail backpacker, I know trail food. But Terlingua actually has great food! Of course most people would recommend La Kiva! I've been going there for years. I always get a NY Strip Steak and fries (because they only do fries which aggravates me, but...), but there are also other places. There is a small, local Mexican place that has some of the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. In particular their rice. It is pink in color and fabulous. It's on the south side of 170 but I can't remember the name of it. And we can't forget the Chili Pepper cafe! If you are interested in intrigue, La Kiva has some. The old owner was murdered by a local outfitter employee. He was there drinking "mind erasers." The old owner invented them. I've eaten there both under the old owner and the new owner from up north. The new owner has his own story. He invited me to tour La Kiva before it reopened.
@@dannylgriffin oh La Kiva. I do remember seeing that! That’s a crazy story. We loved Terlingua. It’s such a cool little town
@@MagellanandGreyhound Terlingua is a cool town. It is a place people go to to escape. That's for people who live there, but I feel the same way as a tourist. I live in Michigan and I go there to escape. Although I do some hiking in BBNP, I mostly go there to 4WD and just get away from everything. I could tell you more about La Kiva but you didn't ask. The next time you are there, stop in, order a NY Strip Steak. :) It's about the same price as Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn Steakhouse. Maybe a dollar or two difference.
@@dannylgriffin oh I’m going there for the steak - 100% - where in Michigan? We love Michigan
FJB your choice of commercials suck!
I prefer the Canadian side.
Can't wait to check out that side one day!
@@MagellanandGreyhound you will absolutely enjoy it!!! I enjoyed your video on the US side!! I took my grandson to both sides of it.
@@mizbrown5807 that’s great! We were short on time and couldn’t head over. Hopefully next time
Nice video 😊
Thank you!
What was the date when you went here? Because the flies usually only last for a few weeks in Michigan.
If memory serves, it was around the last week of June.
@@MagellanandGreyhound That sounds about the right time for the annoying biting flies along the Lakeshore...
@@TerminatorJuice in the grand scheme, it didn’t take away from how beautiful it all was. We were just very surprised 😂
I went to one of the islands when I was a kid. Not sure if it was this one but it looks like a great day trip.
Could have been! There’s only a few I think
Lovely lighthouse to visit, and it’s great that you can go up to the top of that as well.
So many you can’t go up! Always love doing it
Great video. I’m from England but spent my summer holidays in Donegal as my mum was from Derry (had to get away from the troubles). Donegal is my spiritual home.
Thank you! Of all the places I visited across two trips, I can’t think of a better place overall than Donegal. “Spiritual home” - I like that!
total awesomeness - makes a great video, thanks!
nice lighthouse - your video review does it a lot of justice, thanks! always wanted to check the great lakes - awesome video!
Thanks! You should definitely check out the Great Lakes. So much to see and do
Best video ive ever seen about thing to do in Miami!!!
Thank you - we appreciate that!
7:30 this structure is so amazing. built so long ago and in pristine condition.
Agreed! One of the many unplanned last minute things we saw too!
Scuba dived there also, neat place to go too.
Awesome! We were slightly envious seeing the divers far below us :)
Wow amazing and now I'm your new subscriber please stay connected and have a great day ❤️
Awesome
Super🙂🙂🙂
Thank you Petr! Hope your summer's going well!
My all time favorite band is Metallica saw them when they came to Louisville Kentucky 2018
Awesome! I think I may have seen them that same year but at Met Life stadium. Always put on a show!
Great video. Thanks !
You’re very welcome. Glad you enjoyed 😁
In what order would you do the attractions? In the order posted, or different? Thanks
Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds are very popular and the later the day goes, the lines for tickets can get crazy. We did Cave of the Winds first, then Maid of the Mist, and then everything else afterwards. Plus, we thought it best to get wet earlier in the day and dry off haha
Planning a trip soon thanks for the video
Planning a trip soon thanks for the video
No problem! Pictured Rocks is awesome.
We have plans to do this tomorrow. My question is , how did you get back to your vehicle at the visitor center once you completed the trail? Great video. Lynn and Danny
Walked back 😂 - but a different way and did other stuff. If it had been hotter, an Uber or taxi
I would like this ! My kind of nice day! Like the floating frames too😊
It was definitely a chill little island.
You pick great places to explore! I had never heard of Kelly's Island. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Doug! We always try to visit the less heard of places. So many cool little places out there.
